Sasha: San Francisco Global Underground (Boxed)Despite Sasha's penchant for hot-off-the-press white labels, the majority of the tracks here are in the shops, though his taste for more underground tunes is still obvious. Like one of his four-hour Tyrant sets, Sasha builds the mix at his own pace warming up with the likes of Freaky Chakra and Medway, before touching bases from Der Dritte Raum to Paragliders and Tilt, wiggling and humping away like a classy escort.

U.F.Off (Island)| When an album like this lands on your desk, you know itÆs gonna be a good day, even if you are effectively being given the giant finger (check the cover). The Orb, love 'em or loathe 'em there is no denying their seminal status. Few dance bands, especially one's as cheeky, subtle and downright fucking talented, as the Orb get whapped on your desk first thing in the morning - usually its some sketchy remix of The BeeGees. With beautifully fluffy tunes like Assassin, Perpetual Dawn and The Blue Room to choose from they couldn't really go far wrong.

Shamen UV (Moksha)Were the Shamen kidnapped by mad aliens and dropped head first to earth when they returned? It's the only explanation because this album'll be confusing to most carbon-based life forms. It's a weird mish mash of styles, with a touch of pop, drum'n'bass and tech-house all chucked into the pot. According to the press blurb, the album's "an astronomer's chart from which their ongoing musical voyage can be plotted" - but this is more warp factor 0.1 than full speed ahead. The two saving graces are dark breakbeat tracks Sfynx and Metatron, sole havens of sanity on an album that's well and truly out there.
